A monumental old world
Neither of us had visited Rome before. Seeing the enormous Colosseum from the tram made an unforgettable first impression.
We continued to the Arch of Constantine, Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon and Piazza Navona, one of my favourite places of the day.

Italian food and my first sea
After pizza and pasta, we decided to walk from the Fiumicino area towards the coast. The route took about ninety minutes and included a busy road, so I would recommend taking a bus instead.
The view was still worth it: this was the first time in my life that I saw the sea.

One full Roman day
Early June was warm but not unbearably hot. Trams made navigation easy, and the trip cost roughly HUF 50–60,000 per person.
